Privacy Policy

This policy describes the starter site's default behavior and what changes if optional services are enabled.

Publisher setup required: before publication, replace the example.com domain, identify the real data controller, confirm hosting and form providers, and edit this policy to match the actual configuration. This template is informational and is not legal advice or a guarantee of compliance.

1. Who is responsible

For privacy questions, the data controller is [insert the publisher's full legal or trading name and business address, if applicable] (“DomainFits,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Contact us through the contact page. The contact form needs a working delivery endpoint before it can send messages.

2. Information this starter site handles

3. Why information may be used

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, the publisher should identify one for each purpose. Depending on the actual deployment, purposes may include responding to a message at your request, protecting the site from abuse, keeping the site functional, measuring performance, or displaying advertising. Do not enable a purpose or vendor that is not accurately disclosed here. The generator itself can be used without an account.

4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

No Google Analytics or Google AdSense code is active in this starter project. The theme preference uses local storage rather than an advertising cookie. The hosting provider may use technically necessary mechanisms; check its documentation and update this notice if relevant.

If the publisher later enables Google Analytics, AdSense, or another third-party service, those providers may collect or receive device, browser, usage, identifier, or approximate location information and may use cookies or similar technologies. Google explains its advertising technologies at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Visitors can review Google advertising controls at My Ad Center. Add the exact services, purposes, retention settings, and consent choices used by this site before enabling them.

Where required by Google policy or local law, including for visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, configure a Google-certified consent management platform and obtain the required consent before using relevant advertising or analytics technologies. A privacy-policy page alone does not collect consent.

5. How information may be shared

We do not sell contact-form information in this starter configuration. If a contact provider, hosting provider, analytics tool, advertising partner, or other processor is added, name the categories and purposes here and use contracts and safeguards appropriate to the service. Advertising or analytics settings may involve sharing or targeted advertising under some privacy laws; the publisher must accurately assess and disclose the actual behavior.

6. Privacy rights in the EEA and UK

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of personal data; object to certain processing; request data portability; withdraw consent where consent is the basis; and complain to a supervisory authority. You may also have rights relating to automated decisions. We will respond within the time required by applicable law after verifying a request. The lawful basis and scope depend on the processing actually in use.

7. California and other U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on the applicable law and the publisher's status, residents may be able to request access to or deletion of personal information, correct inaccurate information, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of sale, sharing, or certain targeted advertising. California residents may have additional rights, including the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right. Because optional advertising is not active in this starter, there is currently no configured ad opt-out control here. If advertising or sharing is enabled, add the required notices and an effective opt-out mechanism, honor applicable preference signals, and update this section before launch.

8. Data retention and security

Messages, if the form is connected, should be retained only as long as needed to respond, maintain appropriate records, or meet legal obligations. Hosting, form, analytics, and ad providers may apply their own retention schedules. The publisher should document those schedules and configure available limits. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards should be used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. International transfers and children

Hosting or service providers may process information in countries other than the visitor's country. If required, put appropriate transfer safeguards in place and describe them here. This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly seek personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information, contact the publisher so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

10. Changes and contact

We may revise this policy when the site or its services change. The “Last updated” date above will be changed when revisions are made. To exercise a privacy right or ask a question, use the contact page. The publisher must ensure that the configured contact method is monitored and functional.
